Omaha Chapter National Meet UPDATE!
Who needs electricity?
The Omaha National Meet is underway. Despite the lack of power, the Christian Field Building has lots of overhead doors and gives plenty of light to conduct business. Cold, mind ya, but open for business. Even though judging is not until Sunday, six pre-registered motorcycles were placed on the judging field today during vendor set up. So far, most of the vendors are in attendance.
Judging Update - by Paul Shedd
Chapter Deputy Judge, Paul Shedd said they are at the event and ready for judging. Today we had about half our pre-registered bikes show up and it's just Friday. Judging is Sunday morning at 9:00am. If you have any questions concerning judging, call Paul or Mary Shedd at (402) 330-4856.

A big thanks goes out to Scott and company who were determined to put this event regardless.

Omaha Chapter National Meet UPDATE! - Scott Larson
Good evening motorcycle people,
First and foremost, the swap meet and bike show is still on!
For all that have not heard, we had a major blizzard yesterday and the town of Fremont Nebraska was hit hard with high winds and heavy, wet snow, which took down numerous power poles and power lines. The entire town of Fremont was totally in the dark until just now where some of the power is just now returning. All the hotels, restaurants and the building near Christensen Field where we hold the swap meet and bike show still has NO power but we are hopeful about tomorrow. We will be there first thing in the morning to open the building and will update when we hear more. Whether the power comes on or not, the meet will still happen regardless.
If you cannot get in contact with your hotel, keep trying. There are also hotels available in West Omaha (20 miles away) or Blair Nebraska.
Breakfast at Village Inn is cancelled, we haven't been able to get a hold of them. The Banquet for Saturday evening has been cancelled as the caterer needed power now, to start cooking the food. That did not happen. We will have a food truck on site Sat for breakfast and lunch. The building will be open and bathrooms are available, but there may or may not be any lights or heat in the building. The temps for this weekend are in the 60's all 3 days and near 30 at night. Again, we are hopeful the power will be restored but it's not a sure thing.
We will have security in the building in any case where bikes and parts can be locked up inside the building at night. At this time, we are still planning on the bikes being judged Sunday morning,
Fill your trucks and trailers and see you there!

Omaha Chapter National Meet UPDATE! - Scott Larson
Fremont Nebraska had a major blizzard yesterday with widespread power outages and power poles blown down. Christensen Field, where the National meet is held, is included in the outage.
I have been talking to City Officials and they cannot guarantee we will have power this weekend. There is NO provision for generators in the building. The board members and myself have agreed NOT to cancel the meet this weekend and we are putting our faith in the phenomenal employees of OPPD power company to restore power. We are still setting up for the meet and going forward as planned. The building is accessible although there may be marked detours in the city.
We have hosted this meet in past decades and are not strangers to severe weather including hail, blizzards, tornados, etc. and we always put on a good swap meet and bike show regardless. The show will go on!
