AMCA and Mees Promotions Announce the Inaugural Springfield Mile Swap Meet
An Exciting New Chapter in Motorcycle History Begins at the Legendary Springfield Mile

The Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) is thrilled to announce a historic collaboration with 10-time AMA Grand National Champion Jared Mees and Mees Promotions, marking the debut of the Springfield Mile Swap Meet on August 30th & August 31st, 2025, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. This exciting new event will take place inside the famed Springfield Mile, the iconic racetrack that has witnessed over eight decades of motorcycle racing heritage.

Since the early 1970s, the AMCA has brought its national meets to the Midwest, initially in Iowa, and later expanding into Illinois. This year, we’re joining forces with Mees Promotions to enhance the experience for fans and motorcycle enthusiasts at the Springfield Mile. If all goes well, the goal is to grow this event into a full-on AMCA National Meet in 2026.

Jared Mees, who took over as the promoter of the Springfield Mile in 2022, has a personal connection to the track—he has won the legendary race an impressive eight times. His story is also one of romance, as he proposed to fellow racer Nichole Cheza during the 2012 event, and the two were married on the track during an intermission the following year. Together, Jared and Nichole founded Mees Promotions, continuing the legacy of this storied venue.

The Springfield Mile itself has a rich history that dates back to 1937, with the AMA Grand National Championship series points system first introduced in 1954. After a near two-decade hiatus in the 1960s due to safety concerns, the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association revived the event in 1982, giving rise to a new generation of legendary riders, including Chris Carr, Ricky Graham, Gary Nixon, Scott Parker, Bubba Shobert, and Jay Springsteen.

Now, with the support of the AMCA and the St. Louis Gateway Chapter, Mees Promotions is expanding this historic event with the addition of the AMCA Springfield Mile Swap Meet. Set in the infield of the Springfield Mile, the swap meet will feature an expansive marketplace for antique motorcycle parts, memorabilia, and vintage bikes. The location, within view of the iconic racing action, allows for a truly unique experience for vendors and attendees alike. The swap meet will continue to grow, with plans to eventually accommodate up to 700 vendor spaces.
In addition to the swap meet, fans can enjoy a full lineup of activities, including a 10-class vintage bike show taking place in the infield and a vintage flat-tracker show located under the grandstands. Judging at this inaugural event will not be tied to the AMCA’s usual 100-point classification. Mees Promotions will offer affordable infield spectator tickets at $20 per person per day, as well as special grandstand packages, which include AMA paddock access for a behind-the-scenes look at the races.

The AMCA Springfield Mile Swap Meet promises to be a can’t-miss event for motorcycle lovers, collectors, and racing fans. This new venture is set to bring together a rich tradition of flat track racing with the vibrant world of antique motorcycle enthusiasts.

Mark your calendars for August 30th and 31st, 2025, and stay tuned to the AMCA website for more information on vendor registration, ticketing, and event details.

Keith Kizer and Jared Mees will conduct a site visit in May to mark off the vendor field to create online registration maps. No later than June 1, vendor registration will open on the AMCA Website.
