VMCC Tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II

Keith Kizer | Published on 9/9/2022

AMCA offers our sincere condolences to our members and friends in the United Kingdom for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Please see below a message from VMCC Chair, Mario Costa-Sa.

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club joins the nation in mourning, following the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

We are following advice from both the Government and the ACU, the governing body for motorcycle motorsport.   As a mark of respect, it is advised that all events hold a two-minute silence in memory of Her Majesty at a time of their choosing. Where venues have the ability to do so, any flags displayed should be flown at half-mast.

The VMCC Cadwell event this weekend will follow this guidance.

We await further details on the date of the funeral and other arrangements and will advise further to Sections upon announcement.  Her Majesty was an inspiration to our nation, dedicating her life to her duties and we offer our deepest sympathies to His Majesty The King and the Royal Family.
The VMCC was proud to participate in the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant this summer, and we are especially grateful to the many members who rode that fine day showing their respect and for the timeliness of the September Journal as a lasting reminder of our contribution to celebrating her 70 year reign.

Plans are being made for a VMCC rider to proceed to London and present flowers and a formal message of sympathy will be sent to Buckingham Palace on behalf of all members of the Club.

At your service,

Mario Costa-Sa
Chair
On behalf of the VMCC
